[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:05] Speaker B: Welcome to the CBD Ed show with Ed Chaney, a CBD industry expert and business executive. In this program, we will discuss the uses of CBD and other methods of treatment that are alternatives but also complement conventional medicines. Now here is your host, Ed Janey. [00:00:24] Speaker A: Welcome to the CBD Ed Show. I'm your host, Ed Janey, along with beautiful Ms. Kimberly Rose. [00:00:30] Speaker C: Thank you, Ed. Hello, everyone. [00:00:33] Speaker A: Certainly love this time on the show with her, we really do get a chance to consider all the audience, all the audience's responses after we do our shows. And from that we came up with a neat idea. All these questions that keep coming to us regarding cbd, well, we were able to filter through and discover the, the top 30 and then we also kind of understood we did not need to spend a lot of time answering the questions because these questions really are capable of being answered and. Short bits. Yeah, short format. And so we're, that's what we're going to do today. So we're going to deliver a 60 second answer, 60 seconds or less to 30 of the top questions asked by our audience. [00:01:25] Speaker C: Yeah. Okay. I mean, I'm gonna try my hardest to keep it to 60 seconds. [00:01:30] Speaker A: Right, right. I know it will be a challenge. We love to share. It's not a challenge for any other reason other than just that we're very enthusiastic about the knowledge we have with cbd and sometimes that enthusiasm shows up with long winded. [00:01:48] Speaker C: Yeah. And we, I mean, we also recognize that maybe you don't want, if you know the answer already, you're like, okay, what's the next question? [00:01:55] Speaker A: Right, right, right. All right. And we are going to go back and forth so that we can make this a little entertaining as well. And let's just go ahead and we'll start with Kim answering the. For asking the first question. [00:02:10] Speaker C: Okay. Very easy question. What is CBD and how does it work? [00:02:15] Speaker A: Oh my God. I have, I have done a complete show on that. This is an hour long question all day long. Okay. CBD affects ECS system and is designed to help it to get to homeostasis. Your ECS system manages a lot of functioning, functioning parts in your body, like digestion, like mood, like. Right. These are all things that the ECs can help regulate to get you and your body in a state of homeostasis. That's what CB does. CBD does in a human body. [00:02:53] Speaker C: And that's what it is. What it is is it comes from. [00:02:57] Speaker A: The hemp plant and not the marijuana plant. [00:03:00] Speaker C: Great. Okay, so now the second one is. [00:03:04] Speaker A: Yep, go ahead. [00:03:04] Speaker C: Go ahead. Cb, Is CBD legal in my country or state? [00:03:11] Speaker A: Absolutely legal, federally. So in this country of usa, it is federally legal. And then they said each state can control their own rules from there. All legal, but there may be conditions within a state that might have an impact on what level of legal it is. Meaning maybe you have to have a medical card or maybe it is full legal. [00:03:41] Speaker C: Yeah, it really is. Probably the best way to do it is just Google. Is CBD legal in my state? [00:03:48] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:03:49] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:03:49] Speaker A: Okay. [00:03:50] Speaker C: Okay, next question. [00:03:51] Speaker A: This will be a question for Kim. What is the difference between cbd, isolate, full spectrum CBD and broad spectrum cbd? [00:03:58] Speaker C: Okay, I'm going to take isolate first. It is just the CBD molecule. It gets pulled right out of the plant. The rest of the plant gets tossed. It is all by itself, just the CBD molecule. Now, a broad spectrum is going to be most of the plant, but they have pulled out the THC component to that. So medium strength. We'll say isolate, not as strong, broad spectrum, a little bit stronger. And then full spectrum is the whole plant. It has not been messed with. They have extracted the whole plant and it is going to what I would call the. Be the most effective CBD. [00:04:44] Speaker A: Excellent answer. And I think you stayed under the 36 or the 62nd. How do you. I determine the quality of CBD products, Kimberly? [00:04:53] Speaker C: Well, I would determine the quality of a product by the test results. If you can find. It's. It's called a certificate of analysis, a coa. You can look at it. You can see how much every. It should show you how much CBD is in there. Thc, cbn, cbg, all the components of the plant. If it's just an isolate, you're just going to look at the CBD alone. You're also going to kind of look at maybe other ingredients in there. Does it have melatonin? Does it have this? That's how you determine the quality of a CBD product. [00:05:32] Speaker A: Excellent answer. [00:05:34] Speaker C: Okay. [00:05:34] Speaker A: All right. Now, and that's for potency. There are other things that it can be tested for as well, like solvents, pesticides, heavy metals. [00:05:44] Speaker C: Right? [00:05:44] Speaker A: Perfect. Right, Right. Perfect. I'm going to throw one more question at you. [00:05:49] Speaker C: Okay. [00:05:49] Speaker A: You good? [00:05:50] Speaker C: Sure. [00:05:50] Speaker A: You're doing great. So we're going to keep you on this run. How long does it take for CBD to start working and how long do the effects last? [00:06:01] Speaker C: Okay. Now, this is depending on how you are taking your cbd. The fastest way to get CBD in your body is inhalation. So vaping or smoking, whichever you Prefer you can actually get a hemp cigarette tincture is going to be your next quickest or even a water soluble might even be faster. And then your capsules and your edibles are the longest. That's going to take about an hour for you to start feeling the effects. Now again, vaping, it goes in quickly, it works quickly, but it also diminishes quicker. It's about two hours. All right, so if you tincture, it goes in, you start feeling your effects about 20 minutes, it's going to last about four to five hours. If you do an edible, it's going to take an hour, but it's going to last you for a good six to seven hours. All right, so that is now any topical, you're going to feel within five to 10 minutes if it's a good quality topic topical and it could, depending again on the topical, it could last up to four to five hours. [00:07:18] Speaker A: All right. Hey, you were on a run. You broke your run. You're. That was easily 12 minutes. I think that was 12 minutes. No, I'm just kidding. We're on 12 minutes. All right, well, why don't you put me back on the hot seat? Let's do it. [00:07:30] Speaker C: Okay. What is the best method? Ooh, Beth, method. Best method of consumption for cbd. [00:07:37] Speaker A: Excellent. That is your choice and your choice should be based on two things. One, the condition you are trying to treat has a lot to do with. Well, just following the question that Kim just answered. If you need it to be onset quickly because maybe it's anxiety or something, then you want one that has a quicker delivery time schedule to it like through the respiratory system or the tincture. Because maybe digesting it is a little bit too long of a wait unless you have a mild and you want manage it throughout the day. The other things that might affect this. So that was condition. The second thing that might affect is your own personal preference. Maybe you want easy and you want it throughout the whole day. Then snacking on a gummy is. That's a cool thing to do. It will keep it in your system all day. It's easy to carry around. So the other would be your personal preference. [00:08:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I like that answer. Okay, next question. Can I take CBD with my current medications or supplements? [00:08:48] Speaker A: All right, so there is no interactions currently noted with supplements. There are interactions that have been marked for pharmaceutical prescription medications. And you will always know this because on that prescriptions label it will say grapefruit. Warning. That is the only interaction to date with pharmaceutical prescriptions. [00:09:12] Speaker C: Good answer. [00:09:14] Speaker A: Okay, me or you, let's go to you. All right, so we're going to ask you a question now. How should I store my CBD products to maintain their potency and effectiveness? [00:09:29] Speaker C: Boy, again, this, this kind of just depends on your product. If it's a tincture, even a topical, I'm gonna say just on the shelf, just in your medicine cabinet is totally fine. Any topical or tincture, those really don't have any. I mean, as long as your house is, you know, a normal range, 70, 75 degrees, you're fine. Sometimes your edibles I prefer. And you're like a water soluble. I prefer them in the refrigerator. That's totally up to you. If you're vaping, obviously there's nothing you don't need to really take care of it. So I don't really see any like very hard set restrictions. Must be refrigerated or must be this. There's really not a lot of that. I would not leave them in the heat. You know, in Arizona, don't leave your gummy in the car. Don't, you know, don't leave any of anything in the car if you're in Arizona. [00:10:29] Speaker A: Right. [00:10:30] Speaker C: But yeah, your CBD should be just treated like a regular supplement. [00:10:34] Speaker A: Perfect. Perfect. How about answering this question? What are the main differences between CBD and thc? [00:10:41] Speaker C: Well, CBD is non psychoactive. So that means you are not going to feel any of the effects. A lot of people say, oh, I take my cbd, I don't feel anything. Thc, the opposite. When you take thc, it is going to have a psychoactive effect on you. You will get high right now. [00:11:03] Speaker A: And I just want to add a little piece to that. Cbd. Both CBD and THC are used medicinally. Only THC is used recreationally and medicinal. THC has its limit because you can't give too much of it to, to an individual because they become overwhelmed with the psycho. The psychoactive effects of it. [00:11:26] Speaker C: Yes, definitely. There is a warning with thc. Too much is not good. [00:11:31] Speaker A: Alrighty. Alrighty. Okay, question for me. [00:11:35] Speaker C: Okay. Where did I leave off with you? Oh, good. Okay. Is there an age restriction for using CBD products? [00:11:43] Speaker A: There is two ways to answer this. From federal, there is no age restriction. There has never been one that was set. Then you have estate. Estate may set a age restriction and it would be just as easy to Google is there an age restriction for CBD purchases in my state? And then finally, you may have a preference at the place you are shopping, whether that be a retail store or online. I see a Lot of online that are suggesting 18 or above. I've heard stores, brick and mortar stores going multiple directions and it can be completely up to them. And you would just need to ask. Don't be afraid to ask though, because it wasn't imposed by you. And then you should not feel judged either. Every, every human has an endocannabinoid system. [00:12:36] Speaker C: From the baby on. Yes. [00:12:38] Speaker A: All right. [00:12:39] Speaker C: So yes, I would add a little to that. Again, it depends on your situation, the product you're looking at. I think if you're vaping or smoking CBD, obviously we want to maybe think about being 18. [00:12:55] Speaker A: All right, I agree. That's a big piece. Okay, another question for me. [00:12:59] Speaker C: Okay. Now, can I travel with CBD products and are there any restrictions? [00:13:07] Speaker A: You can travel with CBD products because travel is a, is federally regulated and because it is federally regulated, CBD is 100% federally legal. End of conversation. [00:13:23] Speaker C: Yes. Do you want another one? [00:13:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll take another one. [00:13:27] Speaker C: Are the CBD products I'm considering sourced from organically hemp grown hemp. [00:13:35] Speaker A: All right, two part answer to this. They could be practicing organic growing techniques and they could be abiding by it and could equally be certified if there was a certified certifying body willing to do so. And that would be the usda. And they currently do not offer organic certification to cannabis products. [00:14:03] Speaker C: Right. So when you see a product, I don't want to say it's not organic. [00:14:09] Speaker A: But I'm going to tell you what, if you see USDA on it. [00:14:13] Speaker C: Yeah, that's. [00:14:13] Speaker A: Then you should steer clear because if they're lying about that, then they're lying about other things too. [00:14:20] Speaker C: Right? Yeah. Because the USDA does not give certification. [00:14:24] Speaker A: Correct. I have seen practicing organic techniques that is, can be. Well, it can to be interpreted and you interpret it and you'll be okay. Okay, well, let's go One for Ms. Kimberly Rose. Okay, Kimberly, what are the most common uses for CBD products? The most common uses? [00:14:53] Speaker C: Well, I mean you have your basics, you have your anxiety, you have your pain and you have your sleep. Those are the three most common. There are a wide variety of other way common uses, but those are going to be your, your three top tiered symptoms that I would say my customers come into the store for. I'm either I can't sleep, I've got pain, or I have a lot of anxiety. [00:15:25] Speaker A: Yes, I would agree with you. I think. So Now I'll add some information to this because we can. If you have a condition and you would like to know if There is any research being done on it regarding CBD having an effect on it, then simply go to Google Scholar, type in your condition, and then add the word cbd. High blood pressure and using CBD or high blood pressure and CBD is fine. Just ask that question. I have dementia and cbd. Write that into Google Scholar. Here's the difference. If you write it into just general Google, you're going to get all of the advertising you're going to get. And remember, this industry is not regulated, so we can say whatever we want. [00:16:16] Speaker C: Right? [00:16:16] Speaker A: But if you go to Scott, you go to Google Scholar, they have requirements to meet that. Those documents on there must be peer reviewed. You at least get right to something that has been vetted by somebody in a position that could vet it. Okay? [00:16:35] Speaker C: Got it. [00:16:36] Speaker A: All right. All righty. Want to answer and ask me another. Want me to ask you another question? [00:16:44] Speaker C: I know, we were going so fast. We're like, trying to mark things off here. How is the concentration of CBD measured in various products? [00:16:56] Speaker A: All right. And you know, that's important to know, because if you are buying a product, knowing this has two great values to you. One is the easy one. Hey, am I getting my money's worth here? Because 500 milligrams in a 30 mil bottle is not the same as 500 milligrams in a 120 mil bottle. Right? That means your per dose is divided by three. [00:17:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:17:25] Speaker A: So you're getting what you're getting two thirds less than you would. All right? So understanding that is important. So here's the most. Labels require two things. How much is in the bottle and what is a per dose amount. Look, for both of those, they will help you. Most will follow this rule. They will tell you how much is in the entire container. Hey, I got a 30 mil container here. It's got 500 milligrams of CBD in it, and it has other products, too, but the CBD count is 500, and each dose is 1 milliliter, meaning there are 30 doses. So you divide the 500 by 30 and you now know what your per dose is. 17 milligrams. All right? And you can do that for the gummies, too. You see a jar of gummies, and it says in this container, there is 300 milligrams of CBD. And then somewhere on there, you're going to see a count. There are 20 gummies in here. So you just simply do the math. 300 divided by 20. And you should get to a number that should equal the per serving. On the back of the label. [00:18:37] Speaker C: Right. [00:18:37] Speaker A: All right, now. And I think Kim and I really are bothered by this because we saw that people were going, ha, you know what, you're 500, but I'm going to give you 1,000 milligrams of CBD. And we're like, oh, but we were smart enough to go, well, what size is your bottle? Well, your bottle's four ounces. Well, that, you know what that meant? That meant that you now got 1,000 divided by four. That was equal to 250. So that was half of the CBD you had in the earlier product. I said the 500. That was in a 30 mil. [00:19:16] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. So again, your math was off a little bit, Ed, but I'll go ahead and give that to you. [00:19:24] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:19:25] Speaker C: But yeah, so just it's, it's simple math. It's really simple math. Again, if you have a 500 milligram bottle and it's a 1 ounce, you divide it by 30. If it's a 2 ounce, you divide it by 60. So it's not that hard to figure out your bottle. [00:19:45] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. Hey, let's talk about, there's a question here about are CBD products used for pets? Let's direct this at Kimberly, by the way. She's an expert in this area. [00:19:57] Speaker C: Yes. Oh my gosh. Yes. Yes. CBD is used for pets. It is very, very effective for pet. Are they have more receptors than we do. The only thing is that cbd, because their metabolism is so much faster than ours, it. It does get gobbled up a little bit faster. So maybe they need it a little more frequently. Depending on the animal, the size, the condition, all the things I always tell my customers to, you know, do. Give them their CBD in the morning and in the evening if they're still like Casey, my 11 year old golden retriever. She gets it. We're definitely noticing this year she's a little less mobile. So she gets it in the morning and the afternoon feeding. [00:20:50] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:53] Speaker C: All pets. We're talking hamsters. I have a customer who takes our little topical and he rubs it on the hamster's ears because he's a little aggressive with the younger hamsters, birds, anything really. And except for reptiles, obviously, because they don't have an ECS system. Yes, definitely. Good for pets. [00:21:16] Speaker A: Yep. [00:21:16] Speaker C: Good in many different ways. [00:21:18] Speaker A: Let me, let's bring in another conversation. Since this coming week is 4th of July and you may be listening to this podcast anytime during the year, there are more than one opportunities for extremely loud obnoxious noises to be outside of your house where your pets might get over anxious, have an anxiety issue about it. Fireworks is one of the big ones, and that's commonly New Year's Eve and fourth of July. So anyway, just giving a thought to that. During this time, it's a good time to remind pet owners, ones who really care about their pets. I won't say it that way. [00:21:57] Speaker C: No. [00:21:58] Speaker A: But CBD has the ability from a very nutraceutical place to bring some calmness to your pet during those times where that anxiety might spur up. Yeah, well, especially in fire, during fireworks. [00:22:17] Speaker C: Fireworks are huge. Definitely. Some pets don't like to go to the groomers. Some pets don't like to go to the vet. I mean, some pets just don't want to travel outside of the house. There's lots of little ways that CBD can help where you don't, like, have to tranquilize the dog. Traveling in an airplane, you know, all those things just, it just keeps them. [00:22:42] Speaker A: A little bit calmer, is very capable of modulating the neurosystem so that it can handle these things a little more efficiently than without. [00:22:53] Speaker C: Yeah. And again, I took Casey camping last weekend. She had CBD treats throughout the whole weekend just because a. To keep her calm, to keep her mobile. It really, really worked. And you can do a treat. You can do an oil. I recommend the oil. For me, it's just a little bit easier. But either one is fine. And that was way over a minute. [00:23:17] Speaker A: Oh, that's okay. I want to spend a little extra time because we're about to go onto a break anyway. And this is a good opportunity to stay on this enough because I'm sure there are many pet owners that are out there that are like, I did not know this. I should give this a try. And it's very easy. You can either go for a food additive or you can go for a treat. You know, that means a biscuit that has it infused already. Both of those are extremely common. The one who tends to go with the additive is because they're conscious about weight gain, they want to control what foods are being consumed by their animal, by their pet. If you don't mind those things. A treat, a biscuit is really super easy to administer. You know, dog looks at it as a treat. You're kind of grinning, going, yeah, a little bit more than that for you. [00:24:13] Speaker C: Yeah. And then, you know, honestly, even topicals are now moving in for pets. [00:24:18] Speaker A: You are correct. [00:24:19] Speaker C: So if you have a dog that has, you know, is losing hair and has a spot has a condition. [00:24:25] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:27] Speaker C: Where there's some sort of itching or soreness or whatever topical you might need to put on your pet. You can, you can use the oil. You can use a pet topical. [00:24:39] Speaker A: Yeah, I agree. I agree. I think I've even heard massages are becoming popular with dogs out with pets in general and the use of CBD has been shown to be a part of some of those practices. [00:24:53] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:54] Speaker A: Yeah. It's pretty cool to watch that. All right. Okay, so we are going to do a cut right here and when we come back we are going to finished this list. We did pretty well. We actually almost got halfway through. [00:25:09] Speaker C: Yeah, I, I mean I think I answered okay. Yes. [00:25:11] Speaker A: All right. So when we come back we are going to continue this back and forth and Deliver some more 60 second answers to the most popular CBD questions from our audience. We'll be right back. [00:28:18] Speaker C: Hey, listen, I've never been officially called a Chatty Cathy, but known that females use more words in a day than males. [00:28:28] Speaker A: We'll say, we'll say you're nurturing. [00:28:30] Speaker C: Yes, thank you. [00:28:31] Speaker A: And might even be emotionally intelligent. [00:28:33] Speaker C: Oh, wow. Okay. Well, thank you very much for that. [00:28:37] Speaker A: Okay, let's. Well then let's, let's sew the first question to you then. Are there any certifications or third party endorsements I should look for when buying CBD products? Oh, I really want to hear about both of those. [00:28:56] Speaker C: I mean, listen, of course I kind of already covered this with the certificate of analysis. That's your definite main place to go first, I would say. Yes, reviews. Yes, reviews are good. Third party endorsements. [00:29:22] Speaker A: Difficult, isn't it? [00:29:23] Speaker C: It's hard because. [00:29:24] Speaker A: Because what do we know? What have we learned in the past three, four years? Especially about two years ago. [00:29:30] Speaker C: Yeah, you can buy those. [00:29:32] Speaker A: Yeah. There were so many fictitious ones out there. [00:29:36] Speaker C: Yeah, you can invent them. I mean, there's really just no real way of knowing is this real. And we had a whole show even on certificates of analysis. This has been such a shady business that people were actually, and I don't think this is happening, but falsifying those documents. So if you can try and you know, recognize that that sounds like an honest answer. [00:30:04] Speaker A: All right. Okay, me next. [00:30:07] Speaker C: Can I build a tolerance to CBD over time? And if so, how can I avoid it? [00:30:14] Speaker A: All right, so let's try this out for staying under 60 seconds. Are you ready? No. [00:30:21] Speaker C: And we're just talking CBD here. [00:30:23] Speaker A: That's correct. [00:30:24] Speaker C: Okay. [00:30:25] Speaker A: No. So because thc, CBD can, does not accumulate in your body, your body does not become tolerant of it. You do not have to increase your CBD dose over time for that reason, period. It's. That is the makeup of all the cannabinoids except for thc. THC is the only one that the body can then is designed to create resistance to it over time. [00:30:57] Speaker C: Right. [00:30:58] Speaker A: All right. And that's it. And if you want to know how to solve that, you're just going to have to back up. You are just going to have to sustain from using it. And the experts out there, when I talk about experts, I'm talking about cannabis users. They have mastered this. And I hear a lot of discussions about two weeks. [00:31:17] Speaker C: So if you're using a THC product and it's no longer working for you, you might need to give it a rest for two weeks. [00:31:25] Speaker A: And then your body tends. My guess is your body's going to reset itself, and then your next exposure to it will be quite different. [00:31:33] Speaker C: Now, CBD we're talking about once you find your dose. So in the beginning, you still need to figure out how much CBD you need. [00:31:45] Speaker A: Right. [00:31:45] Speaker C: And once you figure that out, which you will. The first two weeks, that's your dose. [00:31:50] Speaker A: Well, you know what? This is going to perfect for the next question. Kimberly, how do I calculate the cost per milligram of CBD in a product? [00:31:59] Speaker C: Okay, so you're gonna take your. The milligrams. [00:32:03] Speaker A: I'm checking your mouth this time, so I know. [00:32:05] Speaker C: Right. You're gonna. Let's say you have a 500 milligram bottle, and then. Oh, boy. [00:32:14] Speaker A: Take the cost of the bottle and. [00:32:15] Speaker C: Divide it by the bottle and divide it by the 500. [00:32:20] Speaker A: And now you have a per milligram cost. [00:32:26] Speaker C: Yes. [00:32:26] Speaker A: Right. [00:32:27] Speaker C: Yes. [00:32:27] Speaker A: All right, so let's go ahead and do that for our audience real quick, because I think that is important. So again, I have a 500 milligram container. [00:32:36] Speaker C: Yes. [00:32:37] Speaker A: In my con. In my entire container. Then I looked at the bottom label. It says I have 30. [00:32:44] Speaker C: Nope, we're just doing the. [00:32:46] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Okay, got it. We're just going to divide by the cost. So I just spent $50 on that product. [00:32:51] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:32:52] Speaker A: So if I divide 500 by 50. No, I'm sorry. You have it. Right. If I take 50 divided by 500, then that is going to give me a cost of $0.10 per milligram of CBD. [00:33:05] Speaker C: Per milligram. [00:33:06] Speaker A: Right. So if I have another bottle that is set at $60, and I have no reason to think that there was anything different, I'm now paying 12 cents per milligram of CBD. [00:33:19] Speaker C: Right. [00:33:20] Speaker A: Okay, good. All right. Just wanted to make sure that came across because I know sometimes CBD products get to this place, and I know a lot of. A lot of our questions were around, and we didn't put a lot of those up, but why is CBD so expensive? That's a really hard question to ask or to answer, but I can tell you, you can now use this math to be a little bit more cost efficient. [00:33:45] Speaker C: Right, Right. Selecting your product and always know. Well, I guess I don't want to say always. No. But usually an isolate is going to be cheaper than a full spectrum. [00:33:56] Speaker A: Yeah. Agreed. Agreed. All right, let's do that question. Let's do a question for me. [00:34:01] Speaker C: Okay. Well, we just did that one. [00:34:03] Speaker A: Yep. [00:34:03] Speaker C: How do I calculate? Oh, this one. Are there any specific CBD products designed for athletes or fitness enthusiasts? [00:34:14] Speaker A: Yeah, so there are. So common athletes and fitness enthusiasts are drawn to topical products because that is the issue they have the most. They go in, they get a shoulder injury from some movement, some exercise, inflammation kicks in. They now, if they try to continue with that exercise, will cause more damage. So topical applications to help the immune response and the recovery of that injury is the most popular. [00:34:48] Speaker C: Yes. I would. I would encourage always to do the oil also, or some sort of ingestion. [00:34:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:55] Speaker C: So that you can really treat your overall body inflammation as opposed to just one spot. [00:35:02] Speaker A: Right. Because you can manage this inflammation during your sleep. [00:35:05] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:05] Speaker A: And again, speeding up the recovery process. But the most popular and designed specifically for the enthusiasts out there who are out hiking, too. Hiking, kayaking at the gym. Every day. All right, there you go. There's your answer. [00:35:21] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. Now what's next? [00:35:24] Speaker A: Well, I'm going to give you one more question. [00:35:26] Speaker C: Okay. [00:35:26] Speaker A: What are the most effective delivery methods for CBD in terms of bioavailability? [00:35:36] Speaker C: Wow. Again, here we go. [00:35:38] Speaker A: Bioavailability. [00:35:39] Speaker C: I'm going to say your least bioavailable are going to be your edibles. [00:35:44] Speaker A: Anything that you digest. [00:35:45] Speaker C: Yes. [00:35:46] Speaker A: Including capsules. [00:35:47] Speaker C: It's going through the digestive system. You're going to use a little CBD and drink it, Right? Yes. Yeah. So I like the tinctures. I feel like they're the most bioavailable. It just feels pure. If you can get that CBD into those glands under your tongue and that will take it right into your body and you're not losing. [00:36:12] Speaker A: Very good. Thank you. Okay, your turn for me. [00:36:18] Speaker C: Are there any side effects or risks associated with using cbd? [00:36:24] Speaker A: And that is a great question. And yes, I've seen that asked so many different ways. [00:36:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:28] Speaker A: Because there again, is some misinformation out there. So there was this one study put out that it had liver issues. They had connection to damage to the liver. Well, when you read the reviews of that claim, it is so small, it's random. There was only a few people in this study. It was not done to the standards that most peer reviewed studies are done. But it's out there. It's out there in general Google. So it's being dealt with with the population at large. They are. There is a common thread of information that says, and this is mostly coming from fda, that we need time to do long term studies. [00:37:18] Speaker C: I would say the most accurate. Yeah. The most common side effects, like if I take a C now and again, I have a very sensitive stomach. If I take my CBD oil on an empty stomach, sometimes I can get a little nauseous, but not really. [00:37:36] Speaker A: But that could also be other things in there. Yeah, could be terpenes. It could be the carrier oil. Right, right. It could be other things. But we want to specifically focus in on the CBD for our listeners, our audience today. I also want to share with you that the World Health Organization still has not changed their opinion and said that it is safe for human consumption. [00:37:57] Speaker C: Right. [00:37:57] Speaker A: And has no risks of health. [00:38:00] Speaker C: Right, Right. I will say the other side, the only other side effect I've ever encountered is a little bit of thirst. [00:38:07] Speaker A: Okay. [00:38:08] Speaker C: And if you're giving it to your pets, always make sure there's plenty of water. [00:38:11] Speaker A: All right. All right, I get to ask you a question next. How do I choose the right CBD products for my needs? [00:38:20] Speaker C: I would really like know your need, right? No. So I'll have a customer come in and go, I can't sleep. And I'll say, okay, what are, do you fall asleep right away and then you wake up or can you not fall asleep? What's, what is it? Do you think that's keeping your you from sleeping, Getting a good night's sleep? Is it pain? So that's where you really have to ask yourself, what is it? And be able to talk to hopefully a CBD person at a CBD store and go, okay, this is, this is the best product for that need. [00:39:01] Speaker A: Got it. Thank you. I know that was a tough one. They answered. I know that was a tough answer. Let's see here. I want to answer. [00:39:14] Speaker C: He's picking and choosing now. Come on. [00:39:17] Speaker A: Yeah, no, no, I had, I had a great one in mine, but I do not see it any longer. Where was it? Okay, hang on now, hang on now. What is the best method for the consumption? How can I take. Are there. [00:39:37] Speaker C: Okay, I like the last one. How about this? Are CBD products safe to use in conjunction with alcohol or other substances? And I want to say, are they talking about illegal substances or what Substances are those. [00:39:54] Speaker A: Well, let's talk about them. [00:39:55] Speaker C: Okay. [00:39:56] Speaker A: Okay. So are CBD products safe to use in conjunction with alcohol and other substances? CBD products and alcohol, they do not interact in the body the same way at all. And as a matter of fact, one is countering the other, and that's. [00:40:15] Speaker C: All right. [00:40:17] Speaker A: So alcohol is creating anxiety. CBD is trying to balance you back out. All the other recreational drugs exactly the same way. They're in conflict, they're altering the body, getting it out of balance, and the ECS system is trying to get it back into balance. [00:40:37] Speaker C: I guess one of my questions would be, does alcohol hit the receptors that a CBD would hit? [00:40:44] Speaker A: Okay, so let me. Let me tell you the real answer. There is nothing in alcohol that is considered a ligand. What is a ligand? A ligand is a compound that is capable of triggering a receptor. [00:40:58] Speaker C: Okay. [00:40:58] Speaker A: There's none of that. There is none of that. Only cannabinoids, either that being endocannabinoids or phytocannabinoids, are capable of doing that task. [00:41:07] Speaker C: Okay, so then if you went to a place. I'm sorry, I'm going to keep with this little subject. If you went to a place and they offered an alcohol beverage. [00:41:16] Speaker A: Yes. [00:41:17] Speaker C: With cbd. CBD in it, what do you think? Do you think it would enhance the alcohol? Do you think it would cause. What do you. [00:41:25] Speaker A: So it's a good question, but all. The only answer is it's going to help maintain the body in a closer state of homeostasis so you won't get so wrecked. [00:41:32] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. [00:41:34] Speaker A: All right. [00:41:34] Speaker C: That's a good thing to know, then maybe you can order a CBD alcohol beverage. [00:41:39] Speaker A: All right, now, I'm not going to ask this question because we already answered it. Our CBD products I'm considering lab tested and certified for quality and safety. Not going to do that one. How do I. Kim, how do I find a reputable and trustworthy CBD retailer or supplier? [00:41:55] Speaker C: Well, a retail. So you want to go into your shop. You want to look at. Well, first of all, you want to talk to whoever's there. You want to have a good conversation and feel comfortable with their answers if they're just there going, hey. Oh, you. You here for sleep? Okay, well, here's your two products. I don't have any information about them, but here they are. These are what you should get. That's not going to give you good. That's not going to give you good insight on what you're taking and what's happening. So. Oh, boy. It's a Retailer. I mean your person behind the counter should really have information about cbd. [00:42:31] Speaker A: Yep. [00:42:31] Speaker C: Any question you have, they should be able to answer. [00:42:34] Speaker A: Yeah. And if you're choosing a retailer online, again, always a good rule of thumb is if they are providing third party tests for their products, that usually is a good, a good statement made by them. They're not required to. So if they're doing something like that, that means they're self policing. Alrighty, how about. It's your turn to ask me a question, Kim. [00:42:56] Speaker C: What is the proper dosage of CBD for my specific needs or condition? Did I kind of already answer this? No. [00:43:05] Speaker A: So dosing for specific conditions is very unique because all of us are unique in our cells, our bodies. But there is a pattern. If your condition is neuro related, mental, the receptors are tightly packed in the brain, so very easy to get to. And your dosage does not need to be that high. As a matter of fact, you got to be careful not to go too high. [00:43:34] Speaker C: Yes. [00:43:35] Speaker A: All right. If you're dealing with muscle skeletal areas, pain issues with joints, that one. You can continue to accelerate the quantity, the potency until the issue is relieved and there's no going over it. So going, going, there's no too much. You just do it until you either find relief or while. This is not working for me. [00:44:03] Speaker C: Right. [00:44:04] Speaker A: Okay. [00:44:04] Speaker C: Yes. [00:44:05] Speaker A: That's the two big ones I want to give. [00:44:07] Speaker C: Yeah, I would say, I would say yes. And sleep again. It seems to be the toughest. [00:44:13] Speaker A: But why, but what is sleep? Sleep is neuro. So you have to be careful. If you go too much, you're going to flip. [00:44:20] Speaker C: You're going to stimulate the brain. [00:44:22] Speaker A: That's correct. You're going to create excitatory transmissions. So it's really key that could just really separate those two. If it's physical, you can up your dose. If it's mental, you manage smaller doses. [00:44:36] Speaker C: Yes. [00:44:36] Speaker A: And keep an eye on. [00:44:37] Speaker C: And maybe keep. And maybe more frequency. [00:44:40] Speaker A: More frequency is correct. Absolutely. Okay, good deal. All right, let's see here. [00:44:46] Speaker C: I like this one. [00:44:48] Speaker A: Show me. [00:44:48] Speaker C: Can I use CBD products if I have a medical condition and should I consult my doctor before using them? [00:44:57] Speaker A: Let's say this at the exact same time. The last part of that, should I consult my doctor before using them if I have a medical condition? Ready? On three. One, two, three. Hell yes. [00:45:08] Speaker C: Yes, please do it. [00:45:12] Speaker A: We just had a show on how to talk to your doctor. I believe it was last week. [00:45:17] Speaker C: Nope. Week before. [00:45:18] Speaker A: So right before this one, if you want some coaching on how to have that Conversation. Please read that or listen to that episode. You will get benefit from it, I'm positive. [00:45:28] Speaker C: Yes. [00:45:29] Speaker A: Great question. Did you want to do the first part of that question? [00:45:33] Speaker C: Can I use CBD products if I have a medical condition? [00:45:36] Speaker A: Correct. [00:45:37] Speaker C: Oh, you, of course, you definitely can. You definitely can. Again, I would depending on your condition. Right. But if you have heard or you have read that CBD might help your condition. [00:45:54] Speaker A: Right. [00:45:56] Speaker C: Then go in, do some more research and then go in and maybe talk to someone at a CBD store, I would agree. [00:46:05] Speaker A: Can I break it into, can I add a little bit to that? Yeah. You can break this into two categories. You either self treating or you're under physician care. If you are under physician care, absolutely, you can do this, but you must talk to them first. Why? Because they could have an interaction with what they, they're doing in your care plan. [00:46:26] Speaker C: Right. [00:46:26] Speaker A: If you are self treating, follow Kim's advice, go on the Google Scholar and see if there is studies, see if there is discussions by those who are capable of having discussions regarding the use of CBD for that condition. And it's, it's safe to use according to the World Health Organization. So you can, it's not ill advised to self medicate or self evaluate. Yes, is the right way to put that. Okay, I get a question and I'll let you pick. [00:47:00] Speaker C: Okay. How effective are CBD products for sleep issues? [00:47:07] Speaker A: Because they, they have neural trans. They have the ability to affect neurotransmitters, especially those who are working in the system of the supercritical, the system that controls your sleep. That system works best when it's in homeostasis. What does that mean? That means certain things are upregulated or modulated up and certain things are modulated down. When you take a sedative to put you to sleep, that's only one directional modulation, which means the system is out of balance, which is often time why you wake up so groggy when you use a cannabinoid to, to help the ECS system reach homeostasis. All components of the sleep system are being modulated to be in balance, which is why we tend to wake up more refreshed. So absolutely. [00:48:01] Speaker C: Yes, yes, I think definitely. Now if you're using, and you have been using for many years, some sort of sleep aid either prescribed or over the counter melatonin, all those sleep aids, you're gonna have to introduce CBD and gradually wing off your other sleep aid. Don't just cold turkey the other sleep aid gradually because you want those receptors to start Talking to each other. And that takes a little while, especially if they have. They're in there swimming around with some medication, anything. It. Quitting smoking, quitting drinking, trying to sleep. All those things that you've been doing to your body that it's used to, and it will fight you. But let the CBD work for a little while before you give it up. [00:48:56] Speaker A: Agree? Agree. Let's go with. Ask me a question. We got. We got time for one or two more. [00:49:03] Speaker C: Okay. What are some common misconceptions about CBD products? [00:49:09] Speaker A: All right, so from my opinion, and please share yours on this one, too, the most common is, will I pop positive on your analysis? Will I get caught at my work? Will I. And then just keep filling in the blank? Yeah, that seems to be the most positive. And the answer is yes. Until that is completely taken care of by Congress, then you're still at risk. We've had multiple shows on this. If you are concerned, please watch those shows. You will find a very analytical approach to the answer to this question very difficult to give it under 30 seconds or under 60 seconds. But I can tell you that the chances are, if the product was made in compliance with the 2018 farm bill, less than 0.3% THC in it, that the possibilities are extremely slim. And if that's not making you happy, most employers are scared to do these tests anymore because of legal. The problem that is being created by this, hey, I'm taking a legal product and you just tried to fire me. [00:50:14] Speaker C: I think another common misconception that I hear constantly is, can I take this? Am I going to be able to drive? [00:50:23] Speaker A: Yes. Is it psychoactive? [00:50:25] Speaker C: Right. And I'm. I always say, again, if you're just using a CBD product, even a full spectrum, you're fine. No reason to worry. You're not going to have any issue. Now, if it's a THC product, please don't drive. [00:50:41] Speaker A: Yeah. So remember, there is no psychoactive characteristics to any cannabinoid in the hemp family except for thc. The hemp plant does not produce a whole lot of thc, which is why it's used more medicinally than anything else. On the marijuana plant, on the other hand, tons of thc, very little cbd, which is why the marijuana plant is viewed as recreational. [00:51:09] Speaker C: I can tell you just from my experience, if I take a Benadryl, oh, my goodness, I am loopy. [00:51:16] Speaker A: Yep. [00:51:17] Speaker C: But I take my CBD daily, and I don't. I don't have any issue with anything. No driving? No Anything. [00:51:23] Speaker A: All right. [00:51:24] Speaker C: Okay. [00:51:25] Speaker A: Now, I gotta tell you, we actually did what we said we were going to do. We got through all of our questions. I'm looking over the list and I don't see a single question. All right. So I hope that this exercise was helpful because think through this. Not only maybe you were able to get a lot of answers with 34 of them. You not only did you get a lot of answers in short format, but you also might have friends, people in your family, people in your network who should have some of these answers but don't know how to get them. This might be a good share for them. Yeah, I think it's in one hour. They can get all these answers pretty quick. [00:52:11] Speaker C: Right. And it's always. It. It's always good to have nice little short answers to a question you don't want. I always say your CBD should never stress you out. [00:52:22] Speaker A: Right. And to be honest, if you come to the platform. So if they share. If you share this show to help somebody get some easy answers to CBD questions, well, they also have another 160 episodes and which they can dive deeper if they want to. But the biggest thing is, is they're going to be able to validate. Oh, these people giving me the answers might be worth. It might be worth listening to. [00:52:48] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:52:48] Speaker A: That's a lot of show. [00:52:49] Speaker C: That's a lot of 160 shows. [00:52:51] Speaker A: I'm gonna say my math has been off earlier, so why not being off right now? But it's pretty close to that number. [00:52:57] Speaker C: Yeah, I know. We're on the end of our third season. [00:53:00] Speaker A: That's right. That's right. So one show per week. All right, so I'm. We're gonna have to wrap this show up. I know Kim wants to keep talking. She will now be known as Chatty Cathy after this episode. Just kidding. You do not look. No, you do. You are not a Chatty Cathy to me, Kimberly Rose. So I want to thank everybody for joining us today.
